Robert Beemsterboer | Sint-Janskerk

Robert Beemsterboer was born in Gouda in 1977. He learned his first steps on the guitar from his sister when he was 14 years old. From 1996 to 2000, he studied classical guitar with Enno Voorhorst at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. During his study period, he took master classes with, among others: David Russel, Laura Young, Roland Dyens, Zoran Dukic, Carlo Marchione, David Tanenbaum and Scott Tennant.

Besides classical guitar playing, Robert Beemsterboer was also involved in pop music. From 2005 to 2010, he played electric guitar in the cover band Big Deal, with which he performed extensively. After that, he refocused on classical music. The repertoire he has built up since then includes music from all style periods and consists largely of music by South American composers.
