From Schutter to Vrijbuiter

A special city walk through Gouda along galleries and heritage with an exciting story. As a freebooter in the Middle Ages, the wealthy town of Gouda was worth its weight in gold. That is, if you were let in through the gates. In times of turmoil, the Civic Guard prevailed. The gates were closed and you stood outside in the cold on the outskirts of the city. The place where GOLD asphalt now lies, an industrial site where freebooters, art and culture lovers are always welcome.
