Eetcafé Vidocq is Gouda's most famous and oldest eatery and is named after Francois Eugene Vidocq who is a legend in France.

The establishment has now been around for 30 years and is open seven days a week. Since then, guests here have enjoyed a casual atmosphere, friendly service and above all, great food. The kitchen is French-inspired and known for its delicious entrecote Café de Paris, entrecote au gratin with brie tomato and bacon, Tournedos with gorgonzola and red port sauce, Spare ribs and much more. In the summer months, the eatery has a cosy terrace, where you can imagine yourself in foreign spheres. The terrace is located in the alley in front of the eatery. In the winter months, it buzzes with cosy crowds where reserving a table is recommended. The eatery itself is on the first floor and has the look and feel of a nostalgic brown café. But certainly with the quality you can expect from a good eatery. Eetcafé Vidocq is a very suitable location for a quick bite to eat, but also for an evening of extensive dining.
